Dorothy M. McCloud passed away at home in Brookings on Dec. 10, 2011. She was 94.
Dorothy was born March 21, 1917, in Loretto, Neb., to Ernest and Anna (Henry) Porter.
She married Charles L. McCloud in Salem in 1936. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Dorothy worked as a secretary for various shipping companies, but spent the last part of her career with Northwest Gas in Salem.
She moved to Brookings five years ago to live with her son Paul, wife Ruth and granddaughter Michelle McCloud.
Survivors include her two sons, Ralph McCloud and Paul McCloud and his wife Ruth; seven grandchildren, Lance, Holly, Joel, Scott, Kelly, Thomas and Michelle. She was “Grandma Dorothy” to many great-grandchildren and younger friends. She has many beloved family and friends in the Salem area.
In the late 1980s, Dorothy and her husband became believers in Jesus Christ and the rest of their lives reflected that change of heart and mind.
