Dorothy M. Lister, 83, Forest Grove, died July 20, 2001, at the Jennings McCall Assisted Living Center in Forest Grove.
She was born April 8, 1918, in Unionville, Mo., to Verner Warren Harris and Ica Mae (Bacus) Harris.
At the age of 6 months, she moved with her family to Whittier, Calif., where she was raised and received her education. Following high school, Dorothy attended business college.
She married O. Perry Lister and they made their home in California until they retired and moved to Oregon, settling in the Brookings community. She moved to Forest Grove in December 2000.
Mrs. Lister and her husband had an equipment rental business. She also worked as an office manager for the motel industry and managed apartments.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Satellite chapter 165 in Brookings and Home Star Chapter 187 in Forest Grove.
She enjoyed reading, knitting and craftwork.
Survivors include a nephew and his wife, David and Mary Harris of Bellingham, Wash.; niece Katherine (Harris) Wilen and her husband Rod Wilen.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, and a brother, John Harris.
The family suggests that memorials be made to a local hospice service.
