Donna Faye Millette, 79, Brookings, died Aug. 26, 2002, in Crescent City.
She was born July 3, 1923, in Gloucester, Mass., to Ethel and Roy Davis.
She was raised and educated in Gloucester and Manchester and graduated from Gloucester High School.
During World War II, she was employed as a welder to assist the war effort.
On Dec. 11, 1941, she married Donald Robertson, a career Navy man. She devoted herself to the duties of raising her family and being a Navy officer's wife. Her husband's service took the family to many areas of the country. He retired as a commander after 27 years of service.
They moved to Clayton, Calif., while her husband pursued a second career. Following his second retirement, they moved to Rogue River at Thanksgiving time in 1987. He died Dec. 31, 1987.
She married David Millette Jan. 15, 1993, in Reno, Nev. and they have made their home in Brookings since that time.
She was a fun-loving person and enjoyed gambling, traveling and shopping. She was generous to her family and friends. Following the death of her daughter, she adopted her granddaughter, Tara Lynn and raised her as her own.
Survivors include husband, David of Brookings; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Michael Dougall of Brookings; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas A. and Bobbi Jo Robertson of Pittsburgh, Calif. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roy Dean Jr., son Donald L. Robertson, and daughter Bonnie Lisbeth Robertson.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
A memorial service was held Aug. 29 at Redwood Memorial Chapel in Brookings.
