Dixie Lee Schram, also known as Dee Westum, 63, died Sept. 21, 2001, in Crescent City.

She was born July 15, 1938, in Brookfield, Mo. She lived in Del Norte County for 20 years, and worked as an escrow officer for 40 years. She was a notary for the state of California and an ordained minister who enjoyed traveling to Australia.

She is survived by daughter, Dawn Marie Earl of Bridgetown, Australia; grandchildren, Jena, Kellie and Aaron Earl, Melinda Kelly and great-grandchild, Joshua Earl-Johnson, all of Bridgetown; mother, Beth Louice Rupe of Brookings; sisters, Darlene Smith of Crescent City, Dannette Gwin of Brookings; Donna Getz of Brookings, brothers Danny Akin of Brookings; and Ron Miller of Ogden, Utah; brothers-in-law, Ray Smith of Crescent City; and Glen Getz of Brookings; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

A family-conducted memorial service will be Sunday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. at Battery Point Lighthouse Vista Point in Crescent City.

Donations may be made to Sutter Coast Home Health Care, 983 Third St., Crescent City, CA 95531, and Angel Flight.
