Curtis Wayne Deneau

Curtis Wayne Deneau passed away Dec. 10, 2012, at his home in Medford, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Curt worked for California State Corrections for more than 27 years and served in the U.S. Marines.

He is survived by his wife Julia Grandy Deneau; stepchildren Cody Fugate and Tatiana Fugate Ruvalcaba (her husband Mario); grandchildren Zaiden and Olivia Ruvalcaba; sister Denise “Deo” Deneau of Santa Rosa, Calif.; brother Randy Deneau (his wife Lisa) of Crawfordsville, Ind.; sister Lorraine Deneau of New Iberia, La.; brother Robert Deneau (his wife Olesya) of Atlanta, Ga.; sister Ann Deneau Chafin (her husband Chester III) of Knoxville, Tenn.; nieces and nephews Richard, Stirlyne, Alex, Hannah, Katie, Natalie, Ellie and Blaine;  great-nephews Tae and Diego. Also surviving are numerous dear friends.

He joins his parents Wayne and Janet Deneau in heaven.

Curt devoted much of his time to coaching baseball and softball over the past 20 years in Brookings. He will be remembered as a truly giving and wonderful member of his community. We will miss you Curt in so many ways.  You have touched so many lives in your short time here with us…may you find peace and joy in heaven; you are now an angel among us.

A celebration of Curt’s life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Brookings Elks Lodge 1934, 800 Elk Drive. All who wish to join us in remembering him are welcome.

Donations may be made in Curt’s name to the Brookings-Harbor High School Softball/Baseball Scholarship Fund at Chetco Federal Credit Union.

Instead of flowers guests are requested to bring a softball or baseball for the school’s team. I think he would really like that!
