Col. William Blaine ‘Bill’ Conner

 

 

William Blaine Conner, 72, of Granite Bay, Calif., passed away unexpectedly Oct. 10, 2011, at his summer home in Brookings.

He was born Oct. 3, 1939,  in Greensburg, Pa. 

Bill served his country proudly with the U.S. Air Force for 30 years, with service in the Vietnam War.

Bill is survived by Barbara “Barbie” Conner, the love of his life for 52 years; his three daughters Arlene “Margaret” Ballesteros (Martin), Cindy Sovey (Mark) and Dawn Grantham (Robert). Bill was a loving Papa to his grandchildren Nathan, Willie, Ashley, Cindy and Garrett. Bill is also survived by his siblings Shirley Kistler, Richard and Jack Conner.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service  at 10 a.m. Saturday Oct. 29, at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 401 Fir St., in Brookings.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made, in memory of Bill Conner, to St. Timothy’s Soup Kitchen and Medical Clinic, St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, c/o Father Bernie, P.O. Box 1237, Brookings, OR 97415.
