Former Brookings resident Christine Elaine Kaucher, 50, of Corvallis, daughter of Harriet and John Miner of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Bridges House in Corvallis.
She was born July 18, 1963, in Lakewood, Calif.
Christine grew up in Garden Grove, Calif. She moved to Oregon with her family in 1990, settling in Wilsonville. While there, Christine competed in the Special Olympics and won several trophies in bowling.
Christine moved to Brookings in 1995, to an assisted living facility where Kelly was her loving caregiver.
Christine moved to Corvallis on Tuesday of last week.
She enjoyed embroidering and doing doodle art and loved taking care of the llamas she raised with her family.
Christine loved Jesus and often told others about her faith and enjoyed copying scriptures out of the Bible and giving them to people around her. She was baptized in 1976, when she lived in Garden Grove.
She is survived by her parents Harriet and John Miner of Lebanon; sisters Tina Terpening of Buena Park, Calif., and Brenda Rodriguez of Tustin, Calif.; uncle Larry Mayne of Anaheim, Calif.; and aunt Sharon Dak of Colorado Springs, Colo.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home.
