Chester Thompson passed away May 3, 2013, in Brookings. He was 90 years old.
Chester was born Dec. 30, 1922, in Yelm, Wash., to Chester and Minnie Moorehead Thompson.
Chester served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed many professions in his lifetime — working as a log-truck driver, commercial fisherman and real estate developer.
Chester married Wanda Eleanor Salisbury in 1951. They moved to Brookings that same year, where they spent the rest of their lives.
He was also a private pilot, and was enthusiastic about flying. Chester truly loved and enjoyed his family and will be missed.
He is survived by his children Ken Thompson and wife Anne of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Nancy Owens and husband Tom of Brookings; grandchildren Ken Thompson Jr. and wife Mary of Liberty Lake, Wash., Michael Thompson and wife Molly of Liberty Lake, Elizabeth Tollefsbol and husband Trevor of Coeur d’Alene, Hollie Strahm and husband Devan of Brookings, Heather Serna and husband Tom of Brookings. Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren.
Chester was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Thompson.
No service will be held.
