Charles “Chuck” Case, age 75, of Gold Beach, passed away at home on May 9, 2014, of a terminal illness.
Chuck was born June 14, 1938, in Toledo, Oregon, to Gladys and Albert Case. He had a full and active life and will be missed by all who knew him. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was married to Pat Case.
Charles graduated from Grants Pass High School and was proud to say he was a native Oregonian. He loved Gold Beach, saying it was the next thing to “paradise.” He enjoyed remodeling and building things, as well as fishing, crabbing, and clam digging in and around Curry County. He enjoyed camping, and travel abroad.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Gold Beach. He was also a member of the Rogue Grange and Community Center in Nesika Beach.
Chuck worked for Sierra Pine, aka Medco and Medite, until retiring from work in 2001.
He is survived by daughter Laura Vallieres and her children Anna and Celine; son Jeffery Case and wife Annette, and their children Arielle and Rex of Renton, Washington; son David Case and wife Cecilia of Portland; wife Patricia Case; stepson Troy Kent and wife Suzanne, and their child Marcy of Beaverton; stepdaughter Tami Boyce and husband Tim, and their children Connor and Teagan of Vancouver, Washington; and stepdaughter Traci Glass and husband Eli, and their child Paige of Eugene. He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Gladys Case of Grants Pass; son James Case; stepson Terry Kent; and sister Crystal Mattock.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at the Moose Lodge, 315 Leith Rd., Gold Beach, OR 97444, on June 14, 2014, with the time to be announced at a later date.
