Carol Mae Hittlet, 35, died May 4, 2002, at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.

She was born April 27, 1967, in Dead Wood, S.D., to Marvin and Marjorie Gunesch Mix.

She attended school in Brookings, kindergarten through high school, graduating in 1987. She was a graduate of Western Oregon State College with a degree in early childhood development.

She moved to Bend about 12 years ago from Brookings.

She was a lover of birds. She and her husband owned and operated a bird business and a day care.

She was a member of Our Feathered Friends and The Christian Life Center in Bend.

To continue her living legacy the family has chosen her to be an organ donor

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; children, Christopher, Joshua, Amanda and Isaac, all of Bend; father, Marvin Mix and mother, Marjorie Mix, both of Bend; brothers, Cloyd of Crooked River Ranch; and Robert of Muskogee, Okla.

A celebration of life memorial was held May 10 at Christian Life Center. Pastor Dan LeLaCheur officiated. A private family inurnment will take place at Deschutes Memorial Gardens in Bend at a later date.

In lieu of flowers those wishing to make donations in memory of her may do so to Wells Fargo Bank in Bend,

Arrangements are under the direction of Deschutes Memorial Funeral Home in Bend.
