Betty I. Phillips, 66, Gold Beach, died May 2, 2002, in Hiouchi of cancer.
She was born Aug. 10, 1935, in Pine Bluff, Ark., to Marcus and Ruby Creasey.
She moved to Coos Bay in 1947. She attended Bunker Hill Grade School in Coos Bay. She graduated in 1954 from Pacific High School in Port Orford.
She married Harry Phillips March 1, 1958, in Reno, Nev.
Mrs. Phillips worked at numerous restaurants throughout Curry County. She retired from Spada's Restaurant in 1994.
Survivors include brother, Ronald Creasey; daughters and sons-in-law, Kayna and Charles Warren of Hiouchi; Debbie Ford and Charlie Gergal of Rohnert Park, Calif.; Jeannine and Clifford Shaffer of Gold Beach; son, Mike Phillips of Gold Beach; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Phillips Shinski of Montague, Calif.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, three stepgreat-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; brothers, Bill and John Creasey; sisters, Mary Sammons and Wilma Glickert; and companion, Thomas Morgan.
Services were Saturday, May 11, at the Moose Lodge in Gold Beach.
