“Bea” (Smith) Shimmin


Bernadine “Bea” Shimmin peacefully passed away March 3, 2013, at her home — Seaview Assisted Living — in Harbor. She was 102.

Bea married Elmer Shimmin and they enjoyed 50 years together. They had two sons, Dick and Jack. 

Bea loved her family and was primarily a homemaker. She also loved arranging flowers, oil painting and traveling.

She is survived by her son, Dick Shimmin and wife Joyce of Sacramento, Calif., and son Jack Shimmin and wife Fran of Brookings, plus many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of her life later this month in Sacramento.
