Anthony Ruggiero, 78, Harbor, died in his home of natural causes, Oct. 15, 2001.
He was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Mola, Italy, to Caterina and Benedetto, Ruggiero.
He went to school in Mola, and married his wife, Margaret, on June 24, 1950, in Flushing, N.Y.
He served in the Italian Navy and Merchant Marines, and an Italian submarine for 18 months. He also worked as a plasterer, restaurant owner and land developer until he retired in 1978. He moved to Harbor from Los Angeles in 1987. He was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation.
Mr. Ruggiero is survived by his sons, Anthony Ruggiero of Paso Robles, Calif., and Lorenzo Ruggiero of Tujunga, Calif.; and grandson, Christian Halvorsen of Eagle Rock, Calif.
He is preceded in death by his wife; daughters, Catherine Halvorsen, Maria McCann, Elizabeth Ruggiero and Roseann Ruggiero, and grandson, Michael McCann.
Services will be Sunday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. at 97997 Hazy Lane, Harbor, officiated by the family.
