Ann Maree Reed

Ann Maree Reed, 65, died March, 7, 2002, at her home.

She was born in Shoshone, Idaho, April 2, 1936, to Lester and Frances Sova. She moved with her family to Eugene in 1942. She returned to visit her grandmother Bertha Serier and Aunt Jane Lancaster of Filer, Idaho, for many years in her life.

Mrs. Reed spent her early years in Eugene making friends, working hard and valuing her independence, family members said. She attended University High School and was preparing to attend her 50th class reunion this year.

While working at Lane Electric Cooperative in Springfield, she met her husband, Darrell, a lineman. They were married in Eugene Feb. 1, 1958, and resided in Springfield with their two sons and daughter for many years before moving to Brookings.

She and her husband worked hard improving their home and building a nursery business while he worked at the Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative.

In 1989, they moved to Oceanview Mobile Estates where they enjoyed travelling with friends in the Elks RV Club. Mrs. Reeds devotion to her family and friends was known by many as a hallmark of her character, family members said.

Mrs. Reed is survived by her husband; sons, David Reed of San Jose, Calif.; Robert Reed of Wilsonville; daughter, Lori Oas of Caldwell, Idaho; sister, Evelyn Barker of Sacramento; Doris Deivitt of Boise, Idaho; Lorraine Neeves of Coal Valley, Ill.; Ruth Johnson of Nuevo, Calif.; and brother, Bob of Brookings.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Sova.

Memorial services will be at Oceanview Mobile Estates, Community Center on Monday, March 11, at 1 p.m.

Friends are invited.

Litty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
