Amil L. Howes

Amil L. Howes, 74, Coos Bay, died March 19, 2002, in Powers.

He was born July 8, 1927, in Eugene to Carsua and Catherine (Stout) Howes.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and going to garage sales.

Mr. Howes enjoyed canning anything he could. He was a teacher of nature and had a lot of friends.

Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Robert Frost of Coos Bay; daughter, Linda; sons, Amil Jensen Howes of Idaho; Rodney Ray Howes of Astoria; stepdaughters, Donna Peck and Denise Wilson, both of Coos Bay; Connie Sheppard of Smith River; stepsons, David and Danny Peck, both of Coos Bay; Theodore Earl Cantrell of Central Point; Donnie Cantrell; brother, Carl Howes of Spokane, Wash.; sister, Ida of Trail; companion, Doris Armstrong of Coos Bay; special friends Gene and Sherry Johnson of Powers.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services are planned for a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Amling/ Schroeder, Myrtle Point chapel.
