He was raised in Fortuna, Calif., by his grandmother Pat Neely. He went to live in Oregon for a short time and graduated eighth grade from Azalea Middle School in Brookings. He graduated from high school in Fortuna.
In his grade school years he played baseball, enjoyed inline skating, and he loved to play soccer. He loved the river, swimming, camping, “bowling,” kayaking and video games.
He loved kids and family. He had so many life-long friends and made friends easily. He loved spending time with his friends and favorite cousins.
Allen is survived by his grandmother who raised him, Patricia Neely of Fortuna; mother Patricia Vizena of Loleta, Calif.; father Carl Rovai (Denna) of Fortuna; sister, Roxanne Lassoff of Fortuna; brother Jack Rovai; his niece Jenelle Bourgeois, and nephew Max Wolfe of Fortuna; his uncle Larry (Andrea) Neely of McKinleyville, Calif.; aunt Darlene Neely of Fortuna; aunt Michele (Ed) Gnadig of Brookings; uncle Dan Neely of Portland; and numerous first and second cousins.
Allen was preceded in death by grandfather Charles Neely, great-uncle Ralph Hammond and one of his favorite cousins Crystal Wiley. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
A celebration of Allen’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Rohnerville Assembly of God Church, on Rohnerville Road, Fortuna. Pastor Mike Gibbs will officiate.
Interment will follow at Sunrise Cemetery on Newburg Road in Fortuna.
A potluck reception will follow the interment at the Rohnerville Assembly of God Church on Rohnerville Road, in the hall behind the church.
Arrangements are under the care of Goble’s Fortuna Mortuary, Fortuna, Calif.
