Allen Bing Crosby, 87, of Brookings, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, in Brookings.
He was born Oct. 26, 1914, in Sale City, Ga., to Wiley and Betty Crosby.
He married Doris Heikla, April 23, 1943, in Aberdeen, Wash.
He was one of the original shareholders of Brookings Plywood and later retired from the mill.
Mr. Crosby was an avid hunter, fisherman and clam digger. He was a member of St. Timothys Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife of Brookings; sons, Dennis and daughter-in-law Florence Crosby of Montgomery Village, Md.; David and daughter-in-law Jo Crosby of Monroe; Robert and daughter-in-law Carol Crosby of Sammamish, Wash.; daughter, Patty and son-in-law Kris Schatz of West Linn; brother, Jack Crosby of Sale City.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Ben, Maija, Leslie, Patrick, Aaron, McKenzie, Tyler, Jon and Eric.
A memorial service will be Saturday, March 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Timothys Episcopal Church. Father Bill Smith will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to Chetco Community Library for large print books.
