Alice M. Rosen, 78, Brookings, died July 25, 2001, at the Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene.

She was born April 10, 1923, and came to Brookings approximately 50 years ago.

She was the tourist adviser for the Brookings State Welcome Center for 10 years and retired as the secretary of Harris Beach State Park.

Mrs. Rosen was a founding member of the South Coast Seagulls. She was also a member of the Loners of America, the Birthday Club, Newcomers Welcoming Club, Star of the Sea Catholic Church and its Alter Society, and a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers and University of Oregon Ducks. She collected 49er items and enjoyed caravaning, reading, dancing and knitting.

Survivors are daughter, Marianne Rosen-Murr of Springfield; sons, John H. Rosen of Brisbane, Australia; Michael W. Rosen of Sparks, Nev.; grandson, Sage John Rosen of Reno; granddaughters, Marcelle Rosen and Danielle Bartlett, both of Australia; Chrystal Rosen-Murr of Springfield; great-granddaughter, Jessica Bartlett of Australia.

Funeral Services are planned for Monday, Aug. 6, at 11:30 a.m. at Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 820 Old County Road. Father Edmund K. Ryan, O.P., will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chetco Senior Center in Brookings.
