Thirteen Trash Dogs (including new Dog Todd) trekked 19 miles up the Rogue River Road to collect the contents of an illegally dumped trailer filled with garbage.
“Walking the 6 miles of the road the Dogs found a number of bags drivers disposed of,” said group leader Ed Gross. “Mostly bottles, cans — stuff drivers pitch out the window as they cruise up the road on vacation or on their way to work.”
The four-hour mission was the 121st the Dogs have completed in the past seven years.
This search resulted in the discovery of tires, a steel sheet, about 30 feet of steel cable and a pickup canopy, which had to be retrieved over the edge of a steep slope.
Metal was taken to the Curry Transfer and Recycling Center for recycling.
