Sheriff’s officers seized a total of 35 marijuana plants from two growing operations late last month in Nesika Beach and Langlois, it was reported this week.

According to Undersheriff Bob Rector, officers seized 23 plants and cited Markwood Scott Hull, 48, at 46248 Highway 101 in Langlois, March 25.

The following day, deputies seized 12 plants and items used to grow marijuana at the house of Allen Wayne Ross, 49, and Di Ana Lynn Hicks Ross, 47, on Nesika Road. That case has been forwarded to the district attorney’s office for review.

Rector said many law enforcement actions are most effective when citizens report criminal or suspicious activity. Citizens can call Crime Stopppers at 1-888-974-0000 to report such activity; anonymous citizens can collect cash rewards if their information leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
