Curry County Sheriff’s deputies and Brookings Police Department officers arrested three Brookings-area residents this week in connection with a home robbery, assault and drug possession.
According to Sheriff’s Lt. John Ward, Gerald Haussler of Brookings called the Sheriff’s Office to report that two masked men had entered his house at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday, attacked him with a Taser, assaulted him, and took his money, a cell phone and other items.
At the time, Haussler was with Kayla Ledford, 23, of Brookings, who was arrested Monday afternoon at the Port of Brookings Harbor for her involvement with the crimes against Haussler. She was transported to the jail and lodged on charges of first-degree conspiracy to commit burglary and first-degree robbery
On Saturday, deputies arrested without incident 23-year-old Bobby Landers at his home in Brookings for crimes against Haussler, and a search warrant at Landers’ home, which he shares with 23-year-old Hannah Fallert, resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and heroin. At about 6 p.m. Saturday, deputies arrested Fallert in Harbor on charges of possession of controlled substances.
A second male subject has been identified as the other suspect in the crimes against Haussler and Sheriff’s Office officials are continuing the investigation. Other arrests are expected.
Landers was charged with robbery, burglary and theft, all first-degree offenses; he was also charged with third-degree assault and possession of methamphetamine and heroin.
