A series of daytime flurries on Sunday turned into snow on the ground clear to the beach overnight in Brookings, and all along the Southern Oregon Coast.

While some problems were reported with icy roads – particularly in higher elevations and on bridges - no major problems were reported from the unsual weather.

ODOT crews were out early throughout Southern Oregon and all along the coast, even closing for a time the McCullough Bridge over Coos Bay due to icy conditions.

There were several non-injury fender benders due to slippery roads in the Brookings area.  People  had trouble driving down Marina Heights and up the entry way from Lower Harbor Road to Highway 101, and people skidded while driving across the Chetco Bridge, according to a dispatcher at Brookings Police Department. "All in all, though, we did pretty well,” the dispatcher added.

Coos-Curry Electric reported no serious problems due to the snowfall.

Monday's weather is forecast to remain cold and clear, with a rain-filled storm moving in on Tuesday.
