The Curry County authorities on Friday were looking for a man who shoved aside an 85-year-old woman during a break-in of her Harbor home Wednesday night.

The man was described as about 30 years old, with a slim build, weighing 150 pounds and 5-foot-9-inches tall. He had short hair, was clean-shaven, was wearing dark pants and a white T-shirt and might have a foreign accent.

The victim called 911 at about 10:40 p.m. and reported that someone had broken into her home on Driftwood Lane and, when confronted, the suspect shoved her aside as he fled the house, according to Sheriff John Bishop.

No deputies were on duty at the time of the incident, so Bishop called Deputy John Ensley to respond from his home. Ensley, with the assistance of an employee of IPH, a private security company, searched the area. An Oregon State Police trooper also responded from Port Orford to assist.

Law enforcement contacted two people walking in the area, but weren’t able to locate anyone fitting the description provided by the victim.

Law enforcement officials contacted two subjects on foot, but weren’t able to locate anyone fitting the description provided by the victim.

The woman was not injured, Bishop said.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect is asked to call 541-247-3242, ext. 4; or 1-800-543-8471. Anonymous tips can also be made to Curry County Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free to 1-888-974-0000.
