The Port Orford police are asking anyone who might have lived at the Anchor Inn RV Park in the past five years to contact them after human remains were found in the yard behind a trailer there March 11.
Police were summoned when park owner Craig Lundborg was clearing a site after moving a trailer as part of renovation there and discovered a human skull about 6 inches under the soil.
The Major Crime Team for Curry County — including representatives from Curry County Sheriff’s Office; Gold Beach, Port Orford and Brookings police; the district attorney and Oregon State Police — discovered more remains later that day.
They were taken to the state medical examiner’s office to determine the gender, identity and cause of death.
Anyone with information can contact Port Orford Police Chief Marvin Combs at 541-366-4567, Curry County Dispatch at 800-543-8471 or their local police department.
Lundborg, who spent two days at the property with eight to 14 law enforcement representatives, had a glowing report regarding their professionalism and interaction with each other.
