The Lower Harbor Road paving project announced to begin this week will instead begin Monday, or shortly thereafter, said Curry County Roadmaster Dan Crumley.

The paving project is part of a south county overlay package awarded to Freeman Rock, said Crumley.

He said the announcement that paving would begin this week was based on information from Freeman Rock.

Crumley said he knew their schedule was tentative and used that word in his press release. He said Freeman Rock completed other work on the South Bank and Winchuck River roads this week, and will begin the Harbor road project next week.

Because curbs must be removed and replaced, Crumley estimated the project could take about two weeks to complete.
