Businesses and government offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22, in observance of Thanksgiving Day .
The United States Post Office will be closed Thursday with mail being delivered the following day except for Express Mail, which will be delivered on the holiday.
Chetco Community Public Library will close after business hours on Wednesday and remain closed through the weekend, reopening on Monday (Nov. 21).
City and county offices will be closed on Thanksgiving and Friday, but police, sheriff, fire and other emergency services will remain in operation.
All Brookings-Harbor District 17-C schools are closed today and will remain closes until Monday as will Southwestern Oregon Community College.
Area banks and credit unions will be close on Thursday, with business as usual on Friday.
Major markets will be open part of the day Thursday.
Fred Meyer will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., but its pharmacy will be closed all day.
Rays Food Place in Brookings will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., Shop Smart in Harbor will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Rite Aid, including the pharmacy, will be closed. Price-N-Pride will open at 7 a.m. and close at 3 p.m.
Curry Transfer and Recycling will not pick up trash Thursday. The company will double up service Friday, picking up trash for both Thursday and Friday customers. It will be business as usual for all other residential customers.
Most fast food restaurants and a handful of independently owned businesses will remain open on a partial basis. Call ahead for information.
The Chetco Senior Center will be closed Thursday.
Offices of the Curry Coastal Pilot will be closed for the holiday, however Saturdays newspaper deliveries will not be affected.
