New warning marker
A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter on Tuesday delivers buckets full of cement, courtesy of Freeman Rock, to a waiting Coast Guard crew building a new warning marker on the rocks in the channel of the Chetco River. Mariners have been asking the Coast Guard to replace a similar marker that washed away in a December 2010 storm. One boat owner criticized the Coast Guard for not replacing the marker before his boat became stuck on the rocks last summer.
