The Brookings-Harbor Rotary Club donated more than 125 dictionaries to third graders at Kalmiopsis Elementary School on Tuesday.

The program has provided dictionaries to third graders for more than 10 years. The Rotary Club purchases the dictionaries from the Dictionary Project, a program which helps local civic organizations distribute dictionaries to school children throughout the country.

“It gives the kids something they can own,” said Bryan Tillung, Rotary Club president.

The children are allowed to keep their dictionaries and Rotary Club members encouraged the students to write their names in the books by providing them with pens.
