The Curry and Del Norte county business communities will gather all day Friday to learn about the economic forecasts for the region during the annual Business Outlook Conference.
The event, presented by the Brookings-Harbor Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tolowa Event Center at Lucky 7 Casino in Smith River.

The economic review will come from keynote speaker John Mitchell, PhD, a regional economist who has been a conference favorite for several years.
He will discuss the international, national, state and regional economic forecasts.
Other highlights of the conference agenda include:
• A community project update, presented by Brookings City Manager Gary Milliman.
• A presentation on issues affecting the community by Bernie Lindley, community outreach for St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church; and Curry County Commissioner David Itzen.
•The traditional Industry Showcase will feature Rogue Credit Union, presented by President/CEO Gene Pelham.
•An industry panel will discuss tourism, featuring representatives from the region’s various chambers of commerce, visitor centers, and the city of Brookings tourism promotion advisory committee.
The day will conclude with “The Futures Forum,” and include updates on Curry General Hospital, Sutter Coast Hospital and a report about Curry County’s economic development.
