|CURRY RESIDENTS ENJOY SNOW DAY|
|January 22, 2002 12:00 am|
A combination of cold temperatures and rain left up to 3 inches of snow on the mountains along Curry Countys coastline Tuesday.
Residents living several hundred feet above sea level awoke to find a significant amount of snow in their front yards.
Snow was reported up the Chetco, Winchuck, and Rogue rivers, and along Gardner Ridge, Carpenterville Road and the top of Harbor Hills Heights. Snow also covered the mountain behind Gold Beach and Port Orford.
The National Weather Service is predicting more rain this week, with the snow level ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 feet.
