Students were being held outside the Brookings-Harbor schools this morning as Brookings police and school officials investigated a report of a bomb threat.

Parents were NOT being encouraged to pick up their students and officials were hoping to return to a normal school day as of 9 a.m. Wednesday.

High school students were directed to the football bleachers when they arrived at school. Azalea Middle School students were at a nearby church as directed by the schools' emergency plan.

Students in all schools were back in classes by 10:15 a.m.

Last school year, class sessions were disrupted twice by bomb threats. In the first incident, Azalea Middle School was emptied for an afternoon. In the second, all schools were closed for two days. No explosives were found and no arrests have been made in either incident.
