AIRPORT VANDALIZED

The Curry County Sheriffs Office is seeking information about the vandals responsible for breaking lamps and stands at the Brookings Airport.

Deputy Kris Cappello said three glass lamp covers on the runways were broken and the yellow stands the covers sat on were also damaged.

The vandalism was discovered Saturday by the Parole and Probation work crew, Cappello said. The lamps are worth $30 each and the value of the stands is unknown, she said.

There are no suspects at this time. Cappello said there are plans to tighten security at the airport.

She encourages anyone with information about this crime to contact the sheriffs office at (541) 469-3132 or (541) 247-7011.
