Residents of the Southern Oregon coast now have access to a resource that aims to make their lives a little bit easier at times when they are in need.
211info, a free, live, and confidential service that provides information about health and human services in our community, has officially launched in Coos and Curry counties.
There are three ways to access the 211info directory:
•Dial 2-1-1 and speak to a live person who will provide resource information and work with clients to find the best services. The toll free number is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.
•Text your zip code to 898211 and work with a 211 specialist to get resource information (standard messaging rates apply)
•Access the online directory at 211info.org – available 24/7.
The type of information available through the 211info services extends beyond phone number and addresses. Registered agencies are able to list essential information such as eligibility requirements and paperwork needed to apply for services. All three methods of accessing 211info use the same directory.
211info also serves as a resource for community events, transfers to crises hotlines, and disaster response. Most recently, 211info has been the point of contact for reporting tsunami debris along the coast. 211info was brought to our area through a collaboration of several community partners, including the Housing Authority, Commission on Children and Families, Curry County Mental Health, 211info and Oregon Coast Community Action.
