Nearly a dozen people of all ages gathered last weekend at Stout Park for the second annual Brookings Zombie Walk.

The event, organized by Sarah Wentz and Cheryl Grimes, was modeled after larger zombie walks taking place in major cities throughout the United States. The event serves only to entertain.

Zombies walked slowly, dragging their feet, down Oak Street and Chetco Avenue to the Elmer Bankus Fountain at Fifth Street. Along the way, they spotted volunteers who were labeled as victims and attacked them.
