Kalmiopsis first grade teacher Dan Rotterman leads his students at adding motion to their singing Christmas carols while Macklyn House residents listen.
Residents of care facilities in Brookings-Harbor received the gift of holiday cheer in the week before Christmas from students at Kalmiopsis and Azalea schools.
Among the classes that visited the facilities were first graders in Dan Rotterman’s class that visited Macklyn House and fifth graders in Perry Kleespies’ class that visited Ocean Park.
In addition, National Junior Honor Society members at Azalea Middle School had lunch with residents at Sea View Senior Living Community. There the students passed out ornaments to all the residents.
The cheer is not over and it’s not limited to students. At 2 p.m. today (Dec. 21), the congregation of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church will be delivering Christmas presents and singing carols at Chetco Inn.
