The new Festival of Art in Stout Park is coming up next weekend and organizers announce they have 45 artists lined up, but they have also been asked a question, much to their surprise — where is Stout Park?
Stout Park “is a lovely place for an art festival. The park is located on Oak Street, one block up from Chetco Avenue and Oak Street,” said event organizer Vi Burton. Manley Art Center is located in the same area, at the end of the parking lot. The Pelican Bay Arts Association sign hangs at the beginning of the parking lot.
The Stout Mountain Railway Garden is located in the park. The model trains will be running on the tracks on top of the “mountain.”
The pathways wander through the park among the many trees and bushes. Artists’ booths will be placed along the way. The festival will also have a children’s art zone area, music, and a food court. Plein air artists will be sitting in the park area creating works that will hang in the art center for judging on Sunday. There will also be a wine bar inside the classroom.
Festivities will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 3 and 4. For more information contact 541-469-9522.
