Lincoln Day Dinner planned for Feb. 11

The Curry County Republican Central Committee has scheduled its annual Lincoln Day Dinner for Feb. 11.

The dinner is part of Lincoln Day celebrations throughout the United States in honor of President Abraham Lincoln.

The dinner will be at the Best Western Beachfront Inn  conference center, 16011 Boat Basin Road, Harbor. Check-in time is 4:30 p.m., followed by a social hour. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

“We are very happy to present our speaker for the event, Karla Kay Edwards, Oregon state director of Americans for Prosperity” said Sue Gold, central committee president. “Karla has extensive experience in executive management and lobbying for free-market solutions for Oregon prosperity.”

Edwards is a strong advocate for private enterprise and governmental restraint, and has fought for those values in both the private and public sector, having worked most recently at the Cascade Policy Institute as the rural policy analyst, as well as at the Washington Cattlemen’s Association, the Oregon Department of Agriculture, and the Fresno County Farm Bureau.

“We are all looking forward to an inspirational and motivational speech,” Gold said.

Tickets for the buffet dinner, catered by Julie’s Fabulous Foods, are $35 per person.  They are available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, Gold Beach Books in Gold Beach, and Port and Starboard Restaurant in Port Orford, or by calling Sandy Ensley at 541-469 3250.
