Brookings-Harbor High School musicians presented a pair of spring concerts – the band performing on Wednesday and the choirs on Thursday – in the school auditorium.
Both concerts were dedicated to Dorothy Shull, a high school junior, who passed away during spring break. Music director Greg Goode asked for a moment of silence at the beginning of each concert in honor of the teenager who was actively involved in the music program.
The band concert included performances by the Concert Band and the Jazz Band. The two groups gave the audience a variety of nine tunes. Both bands included guest performer Steve Varnes on trumpet.
The vocalists performed 12 songs between the Concert Choir, Grace Notes and Sea Breeze. The choirs were accompanied on piano by Brookings resident Virginia Riddle.
