Fog hugging has added a surreal appearance to the along American’s Wild Rivers Coast, giving the sand, rocks and breaking waves of the ocean whole new dimension. The absence of color brings out the shapes of the large rocks, giving Lone Ranch Beach a three-dimensional feeling as the scenery appears to grow less visible, eventually disappearing. As one walks along the beach, new surprises come into view as they seemingly appear out of nowhere. Where there is fog, there also is an absence of wind, such were the conditions on Monday. Ocean waves lap against the shore, creating a calming effect to anyone walking along a sandy beach. The calm waters also mean less sand is being washed away. The stockpiles of sand bury many rocks exposed after winter storms. |
