More than 30 people attended the Oregon Old Time Fiddler’s hoedown at the Grange in Harbor Saturday, strumming guitars, banjos, a bass, mandolins, a ukulele, fiddles, dulcimer and other stringed instruments.

After an hour of on-stage presentations, the musicians gathered in a circle and, one by one, began a song of their choice, with the others all joining in to create a raucous, melodious afternoon.
The group, which attracts musicians from Brookings, Harbor and surrounding counties, meets every fifth Saturday throughout the year. The last time they gathered, it was March, and inclement weather prevented many from attending. But Saturday, with the sun shining, the parking lot was packed, and the rollicking music could be heard from the sidewalk.
The next Fifth Saturday event will take place in December.
