Macklyn House assisted living facility is hosting a Valentine Craft Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10.

Admission to the craft bazaar is free with the donation of nonperishable food item or cash to be donated to the Brookings-Harbor Comunity Helpers Food Bank.

The items most in need to fill the shelves include canned meats; low-sugar fruit — dried, jams or jellies; canned and dried beans; canned stews; hearty soups; and peanut butter.

The food bank also accepts cash donations. Every dollar it receives in donations allows it to provide much needed, but rarely donated, food items at a  discount through the Oregon Food Bank.

In addition to collecting donations the day of the bazaar, Macklyn House will have donation boxes set up for anyone choosing to make additional donations to the food bank during the week of  Feb. 11 through 16.

The local food bank helps homeless and hungry families in the area by feeding more than 1,500 people per month.

Macklyn House is located at 755 Elk Drive in Brookings.
