A triple-bill concert and slide guitar workshop on Saturday, March 23, will benefit the Chetco Pelican Players.
The concert — featuring Toni Land with Dale Morgan, Robert Richter and Timbre — will be at 7 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Admission is $12 and includes a Toni Land compact disc.
Land is an award winning singer songwriter who is an Indie artist with a story. She is a performance coach and creator of “The Miracle of Performance” and “Stageworks” workshops. She has been a performance consultant to corporations, community theater groups and public schools.
Morgan is a guitarist who adds his harmonies performing lead and rhythm guitar work to Land’s original music. He has been teaching and mentoring guitar students in Crescent City and Brookings.
Singer, songwriter, guitarist and slide player Robert Richter is a performer who blends different genres from folk to blues to rock to Celtic. He describes the sound as “Dirty Folk Rock Blues.”
Richter’s credits include appearing on Tom May’s nationally syndicated radio program “River City Folk.”
Locals might remember him from a performance and slide guitar workshop he hosted in Brookings a couple of years ago. He also has been a part of the Brew and Art Fest in Gold Beach for the past three years.
Timbre, named for the vocal blend and harmonies of Michael Quale and Kim Banfield, performs acoustic rock favorites of the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s, along with originals composed by one, the other or both.
The duo has been performing together since 2004. During that time have entertained at the local Farmer’s Market, Azalea Festival, the Elks Lodge and many fundraisers and private parties.
