The Kalmiopsis Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is hosting the Kalmiopsis Elementary School Carnival from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19, at the elementary school.
Homemade food is making an appearance at the carnival, including corn dogs, elephant ears, cotton candy and caramel apples.
The games are planned to be fun for all ages and prizes are given for winning. Games include Angry Birds, a cake walk, Wheel of Fortune, golf, bingo and many others for families to enjoy.
Tickets will be pre-sold at 2 p.m. through Friday April 19, at the elementary school office, 650 Easy St., and cost 25 cents per ticket. Tickets are used for playing games and purchasing food. Tickets can also be purchased the night of the carnival. The games and the food vary on amount of tickets needed to participate or enjoy.
All proceeds from the carnival will benefit the school. The money is shared by the teachers and used to purchase classroom supplies.
Sponsors have been generous with their support and the PTO is thankful for their assistance, Lorie Botnen, PTO board member, said.
“This is probably one of the biggest events the PTO puts on,” Botnen said. “It’s really a night of family fun. It is a safe place to go and a fun time with their families.”
