The Chetco Pelican Players presents the comedy thriller “The 39 Steps” at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings.

Opening night will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, will successive performances at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, and the following two weekends through Nov. 6.
The Alfred Hitchcock play, adapted by Patrick Barlow, is one of Broadway’s longest running comedies, with more than 1,100 performances. In this fast-paced whodunit, a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she’s a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon a mysterious organization called The 39 Steps is hot on the man’s trail in a nationwide manhunt that results in a death-defying finale!
Four actors play many characters in this two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning production. Lead actors are Jason Liddell and Karen Carr. Playing multiple characters are Howard Patterson and Tommy Jones.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and are available at Chetco Pharmacy and Gifts and Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, and New Wave Video, The Book Dock and The Salty Dog Coffee Bar in Harbor.
