Wednesday, Sept. 19

The Wednesday Farmers Market will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chetco Grange Community Center, 97895 Shopping Center Ave., Harbor. 

Kids Club meets at Living Waters Foursquare Church, 1136 Fifield St., at 7 p.m. Children 3 years old through sixth grade are invited.

Curry County Master Gardeners will have a plant clinic from 9 a.m. to noon at the Oregon State University Extension Office at the Event Center on the Beach, 29392 Ellensburg Ave., Gold Beach. Brookings-Harbor Redshirts invites the public to help pack boxes to send to American troops serving overseas. The group meets at 2 p.m. in the Sea View Senior Living Community second floor activity room, 98059 Gerlach Lane, Harbor. Donations of food, snacks and hygiene items are always welcome. Cherish the Chetco weekend will kick off with Wild and Scenic River Night from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder St., Brookings. The event will continue Saturday, Sept. 22, with activities that include an 8 a.m. birding walk at Loeb State Park and a River Fair from 1 to 5 p.m. at Redwood Bar.

Knights of Columbus will be hosting a screening of the movie “For Greater Glory” at Redwood Theater, 621 Chetco Ave., Brookings, at 4:15 p.m. Admission to this film is $6. Screenings will also take place at 4:15 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22 and 23.

Donations of shoes in any condition are accepted. Excess shoes are donated to an organization that serves in Africa.

Fun day begins at 10 a.m. Doni Boyd will teach how to piece folk art alphabet letters – a freestyle project. Evening activities will begin with a social time at 6 followed by the meeting. CC’s Cancer Resource Center offers free counseling and resource options daily to women addressing cancer issues. The resource center is inside CC’s Upscale Resale Clothing Store in the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center in Harbor. The center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
