Wednesday, Dec. 7

•Nature’s Coastal Holiday light show will shine from 5 to 9 p.m. at Azalea Park. General admission is $1. Refreshments will be served. The show will be nightly through Saturday,  Dec. 24.

•The second annual ChariTree Festival will be on display through Friday, Dec. 9, in vacant storefronts at the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center. The public is welcome to vote for their favorite tree. The event is sponsored by Shop Smart and Pharmacy Express.

•Kids Club meets at Living Waters Foursquare Church, 1136 Fifield St., at 7 p.m. Children 3 years old through sixth grade are invited.

•FACE Cancer Support Group meets at 12:30 p.m. at Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder St., Brookings. For information, call Marie Kirk at 541-412-7977.

•Curry County Master Gardeners will have a plant clinic from 9 a.m. to noon at the Oregon State University Extension Office at the Event Center on the Beach, 29392 Ellensburg Ave., Gold Beach. Master Gardeners will be available to help with plant identification, plant problems, diseases and insects, and to give suggestions on what might grow best in the area. •The second annual “Dress Up for the Holidays” fashion show and festival of desserts will benefit CC’s Clothes for Cancer at 1:30 p.m. at Sea View Senior Living Center, 98059 Gerlach Lane, Harbor.

•The second annual ChariTree Festival will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center. The event is sponsored by Shop Smart and Pharmacy Express. Charities decorate trees that are sold at silent auction event during festivities.

•The Gold Beach Chute Out features bull riding and barrel racing at 7 p.m. at the Event Center on the Beach, 29392 Ellensburg Ave., Gold Beach, with the rock band Crush playing for a dance after the competition. The rodeo and dance will also be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, Advance tickets are $9 or $13 at the gate. Children 4 and younger are free. •The Stout Mountain Railway presents “Trains in Toyland” from 1 to 5 p.m. daily through Saturday, Dec. 24, at Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center.

•Sole Pursuits hosts the sixth annual Elk River Salmon Walk. Ken Fliszar, of the Elk River Fish Hatchery, will lead walkers up Elk River Road to view salmon spawning. A hatchery tour will follow. •Free guided tours of salmon spawning areas on the Mill Creek Watershed are set for 1 to 4 p.m. every Saturday in December, organized by the Redwood Parks Association and Redwood National and State Parks. Preregistration is required by calling 707-465-6191.

•A Toy Dance to benefit the Elks Lodge Community Christmas Program will feature the Spence Brothers Band from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Brookings Elks Lodge, 800 Elk Drive. Bring an unwrapped toy or canned goods as admission.

•Oasis Shelter Home provides a haven for women and their children to be free of domestic violence, sexual abuse and resulting homelessness. •The Pregnancy Care Center – also known as P.C.C.
