Monday, Dec. 26

•Whale Watching Week will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily through Dec. 31. Volunteers will be on hand at locations all along the Oregon Coast – including Harris Beach and Cape Ferrelo in Brookings, Battle Rock Wayside in Port Orford, and Brother Jonathan Point in Crescent City.  Look for Whale Watching Spoken Here signs.

•Community Kitchens offers free meals from noon to 1 p.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 102 Park Ave., Brookings. Donations are welcome. Everyone is invited. For information, call 541-469-3030.

•Veterans of Foreign Wars will host an indoor tailgate party at 5:30 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 507 Pacific Ave., Brookings. Monday Night Football will be shown on a large-screen TV and food will be served. The event will be every Monday through football season. For information, call 541-412-7214.

Tuesday, Dec. 27

•Outreach Gospel Mission presents the second annual Christmas Vacation Movie Matinee for Children and Teens, ages 8-16, at 2 p.m. at Redwood Theater, 621 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Admission is free. •The Del Norte International Folkdancers invites adults who want to get moving to join the group from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Del Norte Senior Center, 1765 Northcrest Drive, Crescent City. No experience or partner is necessary. There is no charge to participate. Beginning dances from around the world will be taught the first 45 minutes, with request dancing afterward. •South Coast Linux Users Group meets at 7 p.m. at Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder St., Brookings. Thursday, Dec. 29

•Cancer Support Group, for those diagnosed with cancer and their friends and family, meets from 10 to 11 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God, 518 Fir St., Brookings. Use the side entrance facing Oak Street. For information, call 541-469-2631.

•Oasis Shelter Home provides a haven for women and their children to be free of domestic violence, sexual abuse and resulting homelessness. •The Pregnancy Care Center of Brookings, located at 344 Pacific Ave., offers free and confidential pregnancy tests, education on all pregnancy options, parenting classes, baby and maternity items and more. •CC’s Cancer Resource Center offers free counseling and resource options daily to women addressing cancer issues.
