The Confederated Tribes of the Lower Rogue sponsor its 21st annual Gathering of the People powwow at Big Bend. The public is invited to hear and share the history of traditional ceremonies of the Chetco and Tututni people. The event will feature drumming, dancing, raffles, a salmon feast and dug-out canoe races. The grand entry performances will be at 1 and 7 p.m. A performance will also be at noon Sunday, Sept. 22.
