Southwestern Oregon Community College Laker Legacy Board is hosting a meet and greet for alumni who live in Curry County. The event is from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Curry Campus, 96082 Lone Ranch Parkway, Brookings. The board is seeking a Curry County alumni interested in being on the board.

Macklyn House will host a “Scare Away Breast Cancer” luncheon at 1 p.m. at the senior living community, 755 Elk Drive, Brookings. The menu includes homemade clam chowder, green salad, French bread and dessert. The event will include a special speaker. RSVP at 541-469-7182.

The Pregnancy Care Center of Brookings, located at 344 Pacific Ave., offers free and confidential pregnancy tests, education on all pregnancy options, parenting classes, baby and maternity items and more. Oasis Shelter Home provides a haven for women and their children to be free of domestic violence, sexual abuse and resulting homelessness. CC’s Cancer Resource Center offers free counseling and resource options daily to women addressing cancer issues. The resource center is inside CC’s Upscale Resale Clothing Store in the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center in Harbor. The center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
