The American Windsurfing Tour hosts the Pistol River Wave Bash at “the Rock” along Highway 101 in Pistol River. The schedule for competition is dependent on the weather conditions. Local Adventure Hiking Trails will be the topic of a video presentation at 8:30 p.m. at the Harris Beach State Park campground program area near space C22. A biodiversity hike at Cape Blanco will begin at 8 a.m. at the Sixes River Trail parking lot below Hughes House in Cape Blanco State Park. The hike will take people to the mouth of the river, along the beach, around the cape and back, a distance of about 4 miles. Hikers should expect to get wet up to their knees.
